Planning for Growth at Any Stage: 3 Things You Need to Know

Image
The notion of “growth” can mean many different things to different companies, depending on where they’re at in their business journey . It’s not simply a line on a chart; it’s complex and multidimensional. When growing globally, expansion strategies should be customized to fit your company’s specific needs, goals, industry, and unique circumstances. Challenging the traditional linear growth model and acknowledging the need to be adaptable and flexible is crucial to thriving, especially in today’s macroeconomic climate.  When it comes to growth goals, typically, startups focus on making those critical first hires. For mid-size companies, expanding their teams rapidly, leveraging their product into new markets, and expanding that customer base are usually priorities. Finally, large enterprises generally think about priority scale, perhaps through acquisition or expansion into new business areas.  Examining these differing goals of companies at various stages reinforces th...

Keep Your Customers In The Loop About Changes

My learning path to be the best or among the best

Image

Worrying about how to get through them is normal, but I’m here give you a more positive perspective, and share with you some advice that can help you through your next interview! Be optimistic On your way to an interview, I would encourage you to be composed as you walk in. Imagine that you are the star, and you want to deliver a great performance that impresses everyone in the room. Staying optimistic can really help give a good first impression. While on your journey, listen to light-hearted music, or any songs that put you in a good mood. Personally, I do this a lot, because music has this magical effect of transporting you to another place and letting you be happy, in the moment. Another thing I always do is to search for some inspirational quotes. And here is one that I hope will inspire you: “The will to win, the desire to ...

Eight statements to build skills

Image
In this student blog, Tamecah shares eight statements that she reads daily to help her recognise her strengths. During my studies I was fixated on assigned module reading and essay writing, because reading and writing are fundamental components of becoming a legal professional. But is it all about academic supremacy or does character and life experience bring anything to the table? The following eight statements are inspired by my internships with an immigration and commercial law firm, where training focused on personal management skills and leadership training. Before events, I read the eight statements aloud and make a conscious effort to develop these characteristics and skills. If you're home alone during lockdown with no way to exercise these skills then you should pay attention to how you interact with others on social media (i.e., LinkedIn). The key is recognising the areas that could be improved to leave a lasting impression. This list is personal and yours may be differen...

My experience with loneliness

Image
Loneliness is something that everybody experiences at least once in their life and has especially been the case since the pandemic. Being locked in the house, unable to see friends and family, affected people across the globe. I've had big periods of loneliness over the past few years. Surprisingly, it wasn't due to COVID. One of the worst periods was after my best friend passed away in June 2021. She died by suicide at 23 years old. The month following, leading up to her funeral, was incredibly isolating. It's not common to lose your best friend at 21. People didn't know how to talk to me, how to console me. I heard phrases like "it’s selfish of her" or "look at all the people she left behind" and I would shut down. It felt like people were blaming her and I spent so much of the little energy I had defending her. People would say they were sorry for my loss, but I know they weren't saying it for my benefit. I felt so angry at the world, not bec...

My three-year journey with the University of London

Image
In this student blog, Haala looks back at her three-year journey with the University of London and looks forward to her future career. “What do you want to do after graduation?” “What are your plans for your future?” “Any career goals?” These are the questions that used to haunt me in my sleep. When I embarked on my LLB study journey with the University of London, my first thoughts were; “it’s time to reward myself”. I can tell all new students from my personal experience that the journey is worth it! Studying my bachelor’s from the University of London has given me access to the minds of the world-class researchers and cutting-edge research. More than the ceremonious act of graduating this year, it would be the learning experience that I will treasure most. The fact that thousands of students like me from all over the world have been given a chance to study at their own pace is truly wonderful. The egalitarian nature of the programme is something to be truly celebrated. Throughou...
